WHISTLE
#047: CALVIN Calvin
is one of these "body decoration" folks. He hung
around for a while with this marlin from the wrong
side of the abyss. Over sharing a few too many
Purple Plankton Pureés with the marlin,
Calvin woke up the next morning with some detailed
piercings around his right eye. Calvin doesn't
remember much, and he never saw the marlin again.
His mother was aghast, his father was stoic, and
his little brother thought it was cool. After a
while, people seemed to get used to it.
Artist's
comment:
Often these whistles are named by some distinguishing
characteristic of one or both of the eyes. In this case, the
right eye is a tone-hole with little carved spot decorations
around it. The whistle acoustics are plainly seen in this
view. The top of the spout, inside rim of the eye, and parts
of the acoustics were detailed in a light grey color.
