WHISTLE THUMBNAILS

Artist's comments:
Whistles that are closed --that is, with no slits or tone-holes-- generate pitches lower than pierced whistles of similar volume. Piercing the wall also means that the amount of air required to produce a tone is different. The acoustics have to be cut a little differently as well. It's all fun though.

WHISTLE #053: DEAN

Dean works in the school library. He is bright and is something of an expert on coral reefs of the seventeen-hundreds. He has a thing for swimming at night. Normally outgoing, he can sometimes become absorbed in his work. Dean is a very light blue overall. Dean's younger sister, Jess, can be a handful at times.
